Southern Technical College Welcomes Families During First Summer Jam Festival
Orlando, FL – (Aug. 2, 2016) –Summer fun filled the Orlando campus of Southern Technical College, “Southern Tech,” recently during the first Summer Jam family festival.
More than 120 students, graduates, employees and their children attended the outdoor event that featured food, water slides, Zumba ® dance classes, music and more.
A popular event was a the dunk tank where welding instructors KC Kane and James Quatrini along with electrical instructor Demetrio Balaguer faced the splash as part of the festivities.
Community partners included (pictured above) the U.S. Army, Wells Fargo and local Colombian restaurant Simon Parilla, which donated delicious dishes.
Certified Zumba instructor and current STC medical assisting student Koralys Morales led two classes (above) as part of the event.
Kids enjoyed music from a DJ while exploring the “Splash Zone” with kiddie pools, water balloons and super soaker water guns.
Campus executive director Martin Levert, center, pictured with left to right, Lori Rutland (Director of Career Services), Orvin Vargas (Career Services Rep.), Derek NeSmith (Dean), and Dr. Corina Langford (Associate Dean) grilled more than 200 hot dogs and hamburgers.
